DeFlock Week Of Action
Local activities as part of the National Week of Action being organized by DeFlock August 16-22 will kick off with a potluck and event to orient and organize for the week of actions. The event is Sunday, August 16 from 1 to 3 pm. People can drop in, pick up materials and leave, or just sign up and have information emailed to them.
CAMS (Communities Against Mass Surveillance) formed because of concerns raised by the Asheville City Council’s process in deciding to accept money for setting up an RTIC (Real Time Intelligence Center) in Asheville.
The primary goals of the Week of Action locally are to help people become better informed about the issue of mass surveillance and give people a chance to express their concerns about mass surveillance, and about public safety in general.
